Terms and Conditions
1. Release of Liability, Assumption of Risks and Indemnity Agreement (Waiver). All participants on Selkirk Powder Descents Trips and/or Safety Courses will be required to read and agree to the Waiver as a condition of participation. If the waiver is not completed, the guest will not be allowed to participate on the trip/course. You will NOT be eligible for a refund if you refuse to sign the waiver. Please read the waiver carefully. By signing, you will waive or give up certain legal rights, including the right to sue for negligence or breach of contract. The waiver form can be viewed HERE. If you are booking for other guests, it is your responsibility to bring this requirement to their attention and forward any correspondence to them.
2. Selkirk Powder Descents Guides reserve the right to change or cancel a trip or itinerary at any time due to insufficient enrolment, poor weather conditions, or other reasons without penalty to Selkirk Powder Descents. Selkirk Powder Descents does not take responsibility for any of the expenses incurred by the guests prior to or after the trip cancellation or change.
3. The participation of any participant in any program is continually subject to the discretion of the guide and Selkirk Powder Descents. Some courses may have a fitness requirement and it is the responsibility of the guest to ensure they meet those requirements. Your physician should clear any health problems that may affect your participation in any program. It is imperative that you disclose any medical condition that could put you, your guide(s), or others safety at risk.
4. Selkirk Powder Descents accepts no responsibility for the actions of persons and/or companies supplying goods and/or services as a part of these packages or for any extra costs that may arise from the complication and/or prolongation of any program for any reason.
5. In the event of an emergency, participants may, depending on program location, be liable for any rescue or evacuation costs incurred either on their behalf or as a result of their actions.

6. Weather and Mountain Conditions policy: Winter Mountain weather is unpredictable and is a constant factor that shapes the decisions we make before and during our programs. It would not be practical for us to refund every situation where our guests do not get the weather conditions they hope for so we make every effort to develop alternative plans. If you have a specific objective in mind we cannot guarantee that the conditions or weather will allow an attempt of that objective. We will work diligently to give you the best experience with the conditions we face at the time.
Booking and Cancellation Policy: Selkirk Powder Descents maintains a strict cancellation policy- we take your booking in good faith and begin incurring costs upon trip confirmation. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND purchasing Trip Cancellation Insurance to protect your investment. Please read the following carefully:
- All trip spaces must be secured by a 25% deposit or full payment. Final payments are due on November 1st prior to each season. Please note that some Hut/Lodge bookings may have differing deposit and final balance terms and we will advise you of these prior to registration. Safety Courses require full payment upon registration.
- If cancelling your trip or course prior to November 1st, we will refund you in full less a 10% cancellation fee. If cancelling after November 1st, the full payment is non refundable unless we can fill your space with another guest/group. In this case, a full refund will be provided to you less a cancellation fee of 20% (or $75 for programs less than $400). No refunds are provided within 2 weeks of the program date.
- All cancellations must be received by writing via email to info@selkirkpowderdescents.com
- Hut/Lodge bookings (deposits and final payments) are 100% non-refundable at any time.
- No refunds are provided for the following reasons: injuries, sickness or personal reasons; no-shows and early departures and /or late arrivals; lack of ability or fitness to participate in the program; arriving to the program without the required equipment needed to participate.
- We HIGHLY RECCOMEND purchasing Trip Cancellation Insurance to protect your investment soon after registering for a trip or program. Trip Cancellation Insurance can cover you for occurences out of your control which would result in you not being able to attend your trip or course, such as an injury, a family member falling ill, travel delays/interruptions, etc. You can also purchase 'Cancel for Any Reason' trip cancellation insurance through UniGlobe- please review more detail on our Trip Cancellation Insurance page HERE.
